NFI Productions was founded in 1992 by the Netherlands Film Institute. Since then the company produced a number of features, shorts and documentaries, winning several prizes at Berlin and even an Emmy Award.
In 2005 the company was re-established by current owner, producer Trent. Since then several films have been produced. The feature “SEXTET” by Eddy Terstall, “Does it Hurt” (2006) by Aneta Lesnikovska (nominated for a Tiger Award at the IFFR 2007).
The feature “Kan Door Huid Heen / Can Go Through Skin” by director Esther Rots was selected for the Forum section of the Berlin Film Festival 2009, and is in competition at a.o. New York, San Fransisco, Edinburgh and more.
The feature "Taxandria" by Mark Weistra had its world premiere at the IFFR 2009.

NFI Productions just finished shooting "Hunting & Sons" by Sander Burger with Dragan Bakema and Maria Kraakman. The film will be distributed by BFD Film, and is planned to be in national cinemas Beginning 2010.
In development is "Cornea" feature debut by Jochem de Vries. His short "Missen" has been nominated for a Golden Palm at Cannes for the Officielle Courts Métrages,
